Stralsund, 18th. December, 1900.

The Government Lunatic Asylum,

Hongkong.

I am in possession of your 2 letters from

May 24th. and November 18th., about the patient Charles Ahrens

and beg to offer you my best thanks.

In the meantime the patient came to the in- beritance of a small sum M.500 (about 350 Dollars) which money is deposited at the local Law Courts.

I proposed that this money should be trans- ferred to me in order that I could send it to you through the German Consulate, if no other calls are made.

I am sorry to say that other means are not obtainable, so that I must refuse to solicit our Government about the repatriation of the patient.

Yours etc.,

(Sd.) Reinhold Pieritz,

Stralsund, Germany.
